Note that for 6.6.20 and up, GPU users have the toggle "use gpu while computer is in use", disabled by default in 6.6.2.0 and up after discussion among beta testers. Seems like some gpu tasks can exibit slight slowdowns in graphics and ssytem responsiveness, like VLAR Seti wu. The setting is in Boinc Manager Advanced tab / Preferences/Use GPU while computer is in use.

If you toggle it on the preferences pane you have now set local preferences. Toggle the settings page here at GPU Grid and hit update.

If you toggle it on the preferences pane you have now set local preferences. Toggle the settings page here at GPU Grid and hit update. Apparently you have to toggle it locally. My GPUGrid preferences are "Suspend GPU work while computer is in use?" = no. If I open BM on the local machine, it suspends GPU crunching regardless. If I set the local prefs to "Use GPU while computer in use" and "read it", it immediately starts the suspended GPU WUs.

If you toggle it on the preferences pane you have now set local preferences. Toggle the settings page here at GPU Grid and hit update. The thing is, once you have set local preferences for anything, they are going to be local until you "clear" them. And, as one more item of bad UI design the preferences page does not really show you that you are on local preferences... so, to use the settings off of the web you have to clear the local settings, change the settings here so they have a new date (open then save), and then use update to pull them down ... I know it is not the clearest thing in the world ... sadly they make these changes willy-nilly without thinking about the implications ... like will most people want to opt in or opt out ... Still, there is really only a small handful of us doing CUDA even now so it is good that these changes are coming now ...

Yesterday, I got a rather large GPUGRID result - 28.84 MB. It took a while to upload it, even with a broadband connection.

Nope, Doesn't affect Me, I run gpu-grid while I'm using the PC(3.51GHz Q9300) and My GTX295 doesn't care and so I don't see any slow downs here, My video driver is 185.85(NV/WHQL) that runs under XP x64.

No problem if you have it toggled on. And, as the 3rd post says, it's off by default in 6.6.21 and higher, not 6.6.20.
