Hey,
My current task (Python apps for GPU hosts v4.04 (cuda1131) was sent out on the 16th of December and needs to be finished by the 21st, and is currently 11 hours in (60% done) with an eta of 411 days.

I find that a few of MY GPUGRID tasks have failed because I've missed the deadline which in my opinion is to short as I cant leave my system running all the time, plus I also share my time with other projects.

Is there away to extend the deadlines for tasks?
Thanks

In fact there would be, as other projects do extend the deadline if the machine running a task submits it is working on it.
RNA-World prolongs task deadlines for years if necessary, and PrimeGrid also does.
The deadline is extended on the server, so the Boinc client won't see it (no way to let it) and thus will run the task full-time to get it done ASAP.
GPUGrid could incorporate that feature. It could also just be used for the Python tasks while the ACEMD tasks could still be held on a short leash.

I think this is more a boinc client bug.
If the client knows, that it will run such a long time, it should stop requesting work for this app.
In this case I would recommend to switch to a project with much shorter deadlines.
I have set the project priority to zero - to make sure i always have not more then one task in progress and it can start directly after download finished to not hit the deadline.

btw: the duration correction factor given by the project is already extremely high. I have corrected it by factor 1/100 from 23 to 0.23. Now the estimated time is realistic.
