I am getting annoyed with the error message I see daily in BOINC from the lack of a ACEMD short gpu application missing in the Event Log. But until I get an actual ACEMD short gpu task, the project won't send the necessary application to stop the error messages.

When was the last time anyone got one of these 'unicorn' tasks?

Reset the project and hopefully you won't get error messages. Short units do not pop up very often although quite a few of Pablo's could have gone into that queue.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately resetting the project won't help. Error message is generated by the missing application called by app_config. I could remove the application but then would be caught unconfigured if and when the short tasks show up. If we are talking about months before a short task shows, I would probably remove the application. If the shortage is just because of the holidays, I will wait it out.

There was a batch a couple of weeks ago (less than a month) but it's been quite a few months before that where they were available. I'd suggest to ignore the message or remove it from app_config.

Thanks for the reply. Think I will edit app_config then. Would you say the short tasks are the rarest historically?

At least in the past few months.

You could make a copy of the app_config file to easily switch back if needed.

Didn't think of that. Just deleted the app section. Shouldn't be hard to recreate it whenever those tasks ever show up.
