Yesterday i had for a test a GTX 280.

I thought I had an extraordinary time for a WU.

But after 1 hour on Server 2003 R2 x64, the WU shows a time of 4% after 1 hour!!!!
I thought i'm going crazy!

Why we have some poor performance on windows?
I'm not the only one to have some poor results on Windows x64.
With a GTX 260 on Ubuntu64, i've got 4% in 20 minutes!!

Have you some information about those poors performance on windows x64?
Can we hope to have a new application in some days?

Stefan had problems with the clock of the G260 which was going into saving mode.
I think that you may be experiencing the same problem.

I don't know if you can check the shader frequency while running.

It's not he same problem.
If i remember his problem is on Linux with the PowerMizer function.
I don't find any solution for this problem, bu it seems that the frequency stay on the Maximum Performance mode when i look in the NVidia-settings panel.

For Windows, if i use Gpu-z or Riva-tuner monitor, all the frequencies are at the maximum.
So i don't know were is the problem.

I think i have a part a the problem.

My motherboard have 2 PCI-E slots.
If i use the second one, the 2 PCI-E slots switch on x8.

And i use the second PCI-E!
So i will switch the card to the first one, and see if i have a better time.

My WU was on error because when i restart the computer after switching the card to the first PCI-E, i forgot to suspend the task, and without drivers, why i don't know, the drivers were here before reboot, the WU restarted but immediately with an error.

But after some minutes, i can see 1% after 10 minutes.
On Ubuntu, 10 minutes and it's was more than 1% (almost 1,270%).
Right now, on Ubuntu after 23 minutes it's 3.700%, and on Windows after 20 minutes it's 1.911%.

So i can say that the Windows application is very slow!
But it's better than i had the card running on the bus at x8.
