Heya Folks...

My apologies if this has been posted already. I typically perform cursory searches, and if I don't get immediate hits - I ask questions. I use BOINC on each of my systems, and GPUGRID is one of the projects contained therein for each.

The Long Runs don't bother my Desktop systems at all; but, I find the laptop tends to run over the due date most of the time. I would like to just remove that from running on my laptop; but, I'll be darned if I see a quick way to do so.

Can someone tell me how to do this? I didn't see a config file in the install directory, and the preferences didn't explicitly point out "long runs" on a laptop, etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Paul

I think you can go in the preferences in this website (not the client). There you may be able to define different computing preferences for various "venues".

Yep what Toni said :-)

You need to setup different prefs to your default via your account setting on the website. You then change the computer (again via here) to use the new venue. In your BOINC client on your pc hit the update button for the project and it should tell you that it's changed venue in the messages/event log. Once you've done that it should behave. From memory there are 4 venues: the default, home, school and work.

Its pretty much the same on all BOINC projects. If you get stuck just holler.

Thank you Both! I should have checked for that level of granularity; but, with many of the various applications converging into BOINC - I assumed the preferences and profiles would also converge.

It worked perfectly - sorry to bother.

Thanks!
Paul
