Hi,

Do you plan to create a badge system, like does Primegrid and WCG, in order to stimulate computation and competition ?

I thing god is for 1000000000 enough ^^ just build in something like 50000000 in it (10-100M ist a real big one ;)), then there is place for a diamant rank anywhere ^^ or add a platin rank, then diamony can be still 1000M and God = 2000M ;)

Bronze Badge: 200,000 pts <- because it should go to regions a common single System PC with big GPU cant do on one day. (i know its still possible)
Silver Badge: 4,000,000 pts
Gold Badge: 10,000,000 pts
Ruby Badge: 50,000,000 pts
Emerald Badge: 100,000,000 pts
Sapphire Badge: 200,000,000 pts
Diamond Badge: 500,000,000 pts
Platin Badge: 1,000,000,000 pts <- hope it is more expensive then diamond, otherwise correct it ^^
God Badge: 2,000,000,000 pts <- this must be reeeaalllly godlike to hold for the future. so absolutly minimum this value

I tried to find something to see what Stones are more expensive then others to have the Badge System correct, but failed :/ Do we have a juwelyguy in our community? =) (omg hope my english is readable :D )

The system will probably not be implemented until after the planned server updates, so try to be patient.

Patience is very important to get higher and higher badges. For example, all those who would like to have a Chuck Norris badge have to be infinitely patient. (except Chuck Norris of course) :)

Hi all,

We are just about the update the whole server side including the website.
Badges will be added afterwards.

Although having a Chuck Norris badge would be a great idea, we are going to choose slightly more educational ones. They'll be related to Chemistry and Molecular Biology.

The badge system will be structured in two levels:
- The usual credit-based ranking: badges per credits.
- A new "completed projects" system. These badges won't be assigned in real-time, they'll be bound to real scientific production: publications. Once a project gets published, badges will be given to contributors (ranked as well) with a link to the specific piece of research.

Just a final note, we are NOT going to implement any project selection feature (i.e. WCG) on GPUGRID. We wanna keep it simple.

Comments are welcome.

cheers

My signature in our team forum looks like a bit unbalanced:

The same "problem" mentioned some other people. Would it be able to build half-sized badges to be linked for signatures?

Conversely, the other badges are too small - the PG badges are barely discernible.

Anyway the GPUGrid amino acid badge is for total credit, it's not comparable to the sub-project badges of other projects such as WCG, yoyo or primegrid.

If anything you should be comparing the water molecules to these.

For example,

What you can see from the water molecules is the number of publications you contributed to and the relative contribution you made. While you can't tell the project (outside of GPUGrid) I think that is sufficient; by going to the users page you can see the details. You should be able to shrink the credit badge yourself.
