Message 15277 - Posted: 17 Feb 2010 | 23:28:19 UTC

Hello, I have problem with my computer (i7 920, 2PCB Asus GTX 295). I've installed Boinc 6.10.18 and latest Nvidia drivers (196,21) on my win7 64b, but Boinc cannot found any GPU's - "No Usable GPUs Found."
I've even tried to install some drivers from http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_2_3_downloads.html, and then again Nv 196,21 driver, but it doesn't work.

You need to restart the system once or twice.

Well, I tried three times, but it does not work. Boinc still writes "No Usable GPUs Found"

You can not run BOINC as a service while GPU crunching.
Re-Install, go to Advanced and make sure it is not set to insatll as a "Protected Service"

Tasks are being crunched for science and for all humanity through it.

I have the same problem, but under openSUSE 11.2 x64. Any ideas how to win this bug?

Use Windows XP for crunching (performs much better than Vista or Win7, and no problem running boinc in protected mode). If you insist to use Win7 for crunching, do not run boinc in protected mode (do not run boinc as a system service) because Win7 prevents system services accessing the graphic card.
