Hi all
I got a hold of a PS3 not too long ago over the holidays. Its been great crunching 24/7.

Now, I would like to build a PS3 farm, say 5 to start. Would anybody be interested in sponsored computing?
For instance, I would crunch under your username (so you get the credit) for x days/weeks/month, but in exchange, you make an donation.
I have started this using Q6600s since summer, and now have 5 running. Now I want to try PS3s, since I think it does WAYYYYY more work than Q6600.

I know that some of you will be against this due to the $$ involved. However, please realize that PS3 is NOT cheap and electricity do add up. I can\'t afford all the systems myself, but if you would like to support a ps3, I will be willing to buy the PS3s and crunch for you.

I need to know how many would be interested so as to decide the number of PS3 to get and where to house it properly.

Not a bad plan. I think you could be on to something. I am using the ps3\'s to help with video editing and they are amazing. Linux has been a learning experiece, but in all the video abilities of these machines are great. And for 400 bucks a pop they are even a good deal for a internet computer, and you can crunch with them, and play some great games. But back to your idea about a farm, mmmmm maybe if you had to help a team out or something, in their strive for bigger numbers. Something to think about. Let us know.

Would you be willing to sponsor some? The lowest $$ I can come up with is about $30 per month per machine. Please give me any feedbacks. If anyone is willing to sponsor, I will crunch under your username.
