Hi all,

just joined GPUGRID, so please excuse, if this question was answered already.

BOINC manager tells me, that my GF9 9800GT (Green) has an estimated 54GFlops, This seems to be a little low according to this message.

Do I need to adjust some settings somewhere.

Michael

PS: OS is SUSE 11.1 (latest updates); NVIDIA driver version 185.18.29

Hi Michael, welcome.
Well, what BOINC tells us (all) and what the manufacturers claim the cards can do as a peak peformance is quite different. Personally I think the BOINC figures will be fairly reasonable for everyday average performance.

Thanks Hydropower,

so I guess this is OK. After 2h (wall clock time) into my first WU it is at 10%, so I estimate a runtime of approx. 20h. It seems normal according to this message.

I hope there will be no client error.

BTW, two (odd) things I noticed: driver version is reported as "0", and the science app. uses approx. 40%. Some thoughts?

Michael

PS: Nice rig you have there.

Same behaviour here, don't worry... My 9800GT and 8800GTS both use somewhere around 40% of one CPU, regardless which driver is used... The driver version is not shown in the computers details...
For my 9800GT BOINC reports 60GFLOPS, so you are fine with 54 on a "green" one...

High cpu usage under Linux is normal with the current apps.
