	Just curious, had a WU downloaded just now that appears to be a type I have not noticed before, anyone know what it "does". The HIV ones are obvious if you get my drift, cant think of a correlation for this one. 	Yes I saw this one come through: Ps18557-SH2_US_8-0-10-SH2_US_8590000_0 Boinc 6.6.28 has predicted the duration to be over 41 hours, which is about 275% longer than most I have seen. It's not due to start for another 9 hours so we'll have to see how it performs then. Rob

	Mines been running for 30mins now, cpu time 3mins.33, original run time prediction 27hrs, at present showing 24hrs 50mins to run. The usual BOINC "thing" re learning the run times I suspect, and since its looks like I have not run these before it starts from scratch re time prediction - pure guess - but whatever, run time is dropping rapidly for me. I suspect its going to turn out to be one of the bigger ones around 14/15hrs, my "standard" run time is usually around 12/13hrs. Regards Zy

	Ow :) That'll teach me ..... I walked straight into that one .... had a look. I think I managed to identify which Universe that lot is in, but as to which Galaxy - let alone Planet and street name that lot lives in - will probably be a mystery until the day I pop my clogs rofl:) Thanks TG, it is genuinely appreciated, its just nice to know what we are doing this for other than just mindless crunching. How do you guys get to sleep at night with that lot buzzing around your brain :) I'll stick to the simpler things in life like Einsteins Theory of Relativity :) Regards Zy

	Whoops... Wikipedia was indeed a tad detailed on this issue. The SH2 domain is a kind or "doorbell" close to the cell exterior that is rung by "ligands" (not directly but through complicated chains). These "rings" are listened and start an innumerable amount of tasks in the cell, and therefore are at the core of its proper functioning. Our (yours :) WUs study the detailed mechanics of how and when the "button" is activated. Work is in progress for a new and simpler "science" section :-) T

	Work is in progress for a new and simpler "science" section :-) Thank you ... :) I got a lot of flack for writing to a lower common denominator... but, there were far more people that were appreciative of the fact that someone was trying to make something understandable to normal people ... I know I would like to better understand what it is we are doing ...

	The Wiki should stay detailed, there needs to be detailed scientific reference material around, and Wiki is a good place for it. I echo Paul's thoughts though, a simpler set of science pages on the Site would be a very good thing for us mortels. If on final Production they are transferable to Wiki, they might also fulfill a similar need on Wiki for the less scientifically focused for the same reasons. There is obviously interest from the more scientificaly trained and focused individual/researcher (etc), and there's no reason that need cant also be catered for as well on the Site, by keeping the existing science pages for them. 	Btw, I just prepared a picture with a small explanation. Please find it on Flickr, until it makes its way into the science page. "Now, where am I in the picture?" you may ask. Please look at the "multicolored" snapshots (in reality there are MANY more of them). Each client computer gets one of them, and "lets it go" under the laws that govern physics at this scale (so-called "force-field"). In doing this, your computer will keep detailed account of almost everything which can happen at that scale: tiny molecules of water colliding or sticking; the gray protein being deformed; interaction between the (ubiquitous) charges; and so on. When done, your computers return a detailed numeric summary, and sometimes the detailed trajectories of everything that happened. This is why, for some workunits, you have large uploads. By the way, one more word on the "force-field". The dreaded "AMBER" thing is a force-field of pretty high realism - that's why we are struggling hard to have it running even with picky driver/library combinations. I hope you will like it!
